Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Xander. Xander lived with his family in the far off place of Shelley, Idaho. This year for Halloween, Xander wanted to carve his very own pumpkin. And not just any pumpkin, He wanted to carve the PERFECT pumpkin! So Xander Set off with his family in search of the PERFECT pumpkin. He knew this would be a difficult task, but he was determined to do it!

First, he had to pass the GINORMOUS Jack-O-Lantern.
"By Xander! Good luck finding a pumpkin!"
"Thanks Mr. Jack!" Xander said waving as he hopped into the car.

Xander was pretty good at tracking and knew that it couldn't be too far to the PERFECT pumpkin. By moving the dirt through his fingers, he could tell that he needed to go to Idaho Falls.
After arriving in Idaho Falls, Xander and his family had to pass through the land of
Misfit Pumpkins.
There definately wern't any PERFECT pumpkins here! They were all either moldy, green, or too smooshy!
Next he had to travel through the curvy, swirvy maze of hay.
"How bout' this one?" Xander's dad asked him.

It wasn't easy, but somehow he found his way.
"How bout' this one?" Xander's dad asked him.
"This one's too flat," Xander said with disgust.
"This looks like big one," his dad said.
"Oh No!," Xander said in shock, "this one's too green!"
"Look Dad! Look! This ones just right!" Xander exclaimed picking a pumpkin out of the crowd,
"It's the PERFECT pumpkin!"

Even his little brother, Cannon, screamed with excitment.
So he paid $4.00 and took his pumpkin home.
Then he studied his mom very carefully as she began to cut the eyes out.
He decided he was ready to try himself.
Even Xander's dad had a pumpkin to carve. This was a special pumpkin because Xander's Grandpa grew it in his garden.
Xander wanted to help with that one too.
He helped his dad poke the eyes out. That was pretty fun!
Xander decided his PERFECT pumpkin needed ears.
And eyebrows too!
He did it ALL BY HIMSELF!
After the pumpkins were all carved, Xander and his dad were excited to show them to mommy and Cannon.
And the pumpkins were happy to light the way for little trick-or-treaters on Halloween Night!

So he paid $4.00 and took his pumpkin home.

Love all the pictures! You'll have to tell me where you went for next year! It looks like a lot of fun! I love Xander's carving pictures! He looks like he really got into it! You have such a super cute family! My kids are healthy so we need to get together!
